The son of a medical doctor, J.M. was raised in Premont, Texas with his five sisters. Today, J.M. and his wife Abby live in Kingsville with their three children: Penny, Pepito and Carlitos.
As a small business owner, J.M. understands the problems of overreaching government regulations. He supports policies that create jobs, end lawsuit abuse and is an advocate of protecting the South Texas oil and gas industry.
J.M. is in his fourth term in the Texas House of Representatives and is Chairman of the Higher Education Committee, where he oversees colleges and universities in the State of Texas. He was also appointed to the House Environmental Regulation Committee, advocating for Texas’ industry and jobs. J.M. holds a bachelor of arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from University of Incarnate Word.
