The Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC) established the Task Force on Public School Finance to educate MALC members and the general public on the intricacies of school finance. The discussions focused on specific issues of particular importance not only to the Hispanic community, but to Texans in general. The hearings gave citizens, parents, community and business leaders, teachers, local administrators and taxpayers the opportunity to voice their concerns about public school finance.
